Liquid Color

Why Liquid Color?

Technology Advantages:

  • Rapid Color Changes
  • Flexible Formulations for Additives
  • No Pigment Heat Histories/No Material Heat Histories Added
  • Carrier Often Works as Plasticizer Reducing Feed Times or Pressures
  • Reduced Risk of Contamination in the Driers
  • Screws and Barrels Inherently Much Cleaner

Improved Product Quality:

  • No burnt pigment in end-caps – reduced black specks.
  • Let Down Ratio (LDR) is established by the customer.
  • Even color and additive throughout the part or profile.
  • Color dispersion is uniform throughout the production run.

Cost Benefits:

  • Less Handling
  • Higher Loadings
  • Lower Usage Rates
  • Shorter Lead Times
  • Lower Inventory Costs
  • Lower Acquisition Cost
  • Reduced Inventory Space
  • Reduced Risk of Obsolescence
  • Lower Blending Equipment Costs
  • Lower Minimum Order Quantities
Liquid Color For Thermoplastics

We provide liquid color concentrates for many of the engineering and commodity polymers that are used in the market today.

Our liquid colorant systems are not just compatible with the base polymer, but frequently improve the process and/or performance properties of the plastic part.

Our products have been formulated to deliver high pigment loadings at low letdown ratios, which allow the end user to produce more uniform and consistent parts. We achieve these results by custom designing each liquid colorant system to your polymer and process, leading to significantly lower overall cost. The VLC Series line can also be custom formulated to meet “Toxic in Packaging Laws” (formerly “CONEG”), FDA, NSF, and RoHS compliance requirements.

Liquid Color For Thermosets

Thermoset products have been formulated to contain very high loadings of finely dispersed high-quality pigments to provide our customers with the best possible system for their application.

We offers low viscosity (typically 3000 to 6000 centipoises) polyether polyol liquid colorants for two component polyurethane (for both MDI and TDI urethane elastomers) and moisture cure urethane systems.

These Polyether Polyol-based dispersions with a molecular weight of 2000 and a hydroxyl number of 56 are designed for most polyurethane foams, adhesives, coatings, elastomers, and sealants. Our colorants have been used to manufacture parts such as: Belts, Couplings, Deflectors, Pins, Sprues, Squeegees, Wheels, and Wipers, as wells as several specialized coating.

The VLC Series 100 Single Pigment Polyurethane Dispersions are available in quantities as little as eight pounds. We also offer standard and custom colors.
